Trademark registration is crucial in ensuring that your right as an owner over the mark, and brand identity are protected from competitors who might adopt the same name or mark.
Prior to registration, the following information must be provided:
This may include the complete name, address, contact number, and email address. In the case of a juridical person, this may include the name of the corporation and place of incorporation.
This covers information regarding the title, colors, and translation. In the case of logos, the applicant will be required to upload a reproduction of the mark.
In registering your trademark, this entails identifying certain services or goods that will be covered by the trademark itself.
This document is required in case the registration is facilitated by the applicant’s representative. If the applicant is a natural person, this will be done through a notarized special power of attorney. If the applicant is a juridical person, this will be done through a signed partnership or board resolution and a notarized Secretary’s Certificate.
After securing said information, you may proceed with filing your application with the Intellectual Property Office in person or online through eTMfile.
The entire trademark registration process in the Philippines will take about three (3) months or more to be completed, depending on the IPOPHIL
